Anambra State Government has released a programme timetable for the swearing-in ceremony for the second term of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
The release was signed and made available to Journalists in Awka, on Tuesday by the State Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor.
Nigerian Tribune had earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced Governor Soludo as the winner of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State for his second term in office.
Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, made the declaration at the commission’s headquarters in Awka on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
The incumbent governor, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) polled 422,664 votes to emerge the winner of the election, with his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scoring 99,445 votes to come second.
Paul Chukwuma, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) secured 37,753 votes.
While the Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu scored 10,576 votes, John Nwosu, the candidate of the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 8,208 votes respectively.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
Other programmes of the event include, Inter-denominational service at the International Convention center Awka, on 15th, March, 2026 and a thanksgiving mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Awka, on the 22nd March, 2026.
