The Friends of Tinubu Reforms (FTR) has formally commenced its national operations with the inauguration of its national structure and unveiling of a compendium documenting key reforms and policy interventions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The World Maiden Unveiling and National Inauguration of the organisation was held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
The event attracted representatives of the Presidency, traditional rulers, national leaders, state and zonal coordinators, delegates and supporters of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda from across the country.
The gathering featured discussions on the administration’s reform programme, grassroots mobilisation and strategies for improving public understanding of ongoing economic and governance reforms.
A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of the FTR Compendium, a comprehensive publication compiled by Societal Concerns Magazine to document and communicate the reforms and policy initiatives of the Tinubu administration.
According to the organisers, the publication is designed to provide a structured record of major government interventions and milestones under the Renewed Hope Agenda while making information on the reforms more accessible to citizens.
The compendium, they said, would also serve as a reference resource for policymakers, researchers, media practitioners, civil society organisations and members of the public interested in the evolution and implementation of the administration’s policies.
The presence of Dr. Tope Fasua, Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, as Special Guest of Honour added an economic policy dimension to the event.
Fasua’s presentation focused on the administration’s economic reform direction and the structural measures being implemented to reposition the Nigerian economy.
FTR said his participation provided an opportunity to connect the Federal Government’s macroeconomic policies with the organisation’s grassroots advocacy and citizen-engagement objectives.
The event also recognised the contributions of the organisation’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Senator (Dr.) Domingo A. Obende, JP, who was represented at the ceremony.
Traditional rulers and other royal fathers who attended the event were also acknowledged for their support.
The organisation commended its Director-General, Comrade Hon. Agbor Ebipade, for his leadership and role in coordinating the inauguration, while the Media and Publicity Director, Dr. Oba Fitilah A.A. Adekanmbi, was praised for his contribution to the organisation’s media and public communication efforts.
Delegates and coordinators from Lagos, Ogun, Kogi, Niger, Edo, Taraba, Akwa Ibom, Benue and the Federal Capital Territory, among other states, were similarly commended for their efforts in building FTR’s national structure.
From inauguration to grassroots action
With the inauguration concluded, FTR said it would now focus on translating its organisational structure into grassroots programmes and citizen engagement.
The organisation said its next phase would prioritise grassroots civic engagement, social impact initiatives and subnational governance monitoring.
Under the civic engagement component, FTR plans to simplify government policies and economic reforms for citizens at ward and community levels.
Its proposed social impact programmes will target women, youths and elderly citizens, while the organisation also intends to promote greater citizen awareness and monitoring of resources available to subnational governments.
Particular attention, it said, would be given to increased allocations and resources accruing to local governments.
FTR said its broader objective was to ensure that the impact of reforms was felt beyond policy documents and government offices and translated into measurable improvements in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
‘Beginning of a larger national engagement’
Reflecting on the inauguration, the FTR leadership described the August 28 ceremony as the beginning of a broader national engagement rather than an end in itself.
The organisation expressed appreciation to its leaders, partners, coordinators, delegates and supporters for their contributions to the establishment of its national structure.
It also described the unveiling of the compendium, compiled by Societal Concerns Magazine, as a major milestone in its efforts to preserve and communicate the documentary record of the Tinubu administration’s reform journey.
The publication is expected to provide a reference point for stakeholders seeking information on the development and implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As it moves into its next phase, the FTR leadership urged members to remain united and committed to the organisation’s mission.
“History is not made by intentions; it is forged through action, commitment and unwavering unity of purpose,” the leadership said, expressing confidence that FTR would expand its grassroots presence while documenting and communicating the reform journey of the Tinubu administration.
