There was a heavy security presence at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Monday as armed operatives took over the venue for the official reception of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Major roads leading to the stadium were placed under strict control, with vehicular movement restricted close to the venue. Many attendees were required to alight from their vehicles and trek a considerable distance before gaining access to the stadium premises.
Despite the tight security measures, operatives were observed carrying out their duties in an orderly and professional manner. Visitors were ushered in calmly, while security officials directed them peacefully to designated entry points.
The stadium recorded an unprecedented turnout, as large crowds thronged the venue in a bid to witness the ceremony. The facility was jam-packed, with supporters and party faithful struggling to secure space inside.
