Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, Sector 2, have dismantled a Boko Haram logistics network and destroyed several life-support structures during a clearance operation around Sabon Gari Fishingo in Borno State.
Security sources told Zagazola that the troops, working with quasi-security forces, launched the operation at about 8.30 p.m. on February 28.
The soldiers made contact with terrorists at Kayawa and engaged them with superior firepower, forcing the insurgents to flee in disarray.
The fleeing fighters abandoned two motorcycles and five bicycles. No troop casualty was recorded.
After the encounter, the troops set ablaze structures identified as life-support bases used by the terrorists. The operation later moved to Sabon Gari Fishingo, where a cordon-and-search exercise was conducted.
Two suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers, identified as Dahiru Haruna and Salele Lawali, were arrested during the sweep. A large quantity of drugs, medical consumables and a tricycle, popularly called “Jega,” were recovered from them.
Sources said the suspects were in custody for further investigation, while the recovered items were being documented.
The action forms part of ongoing offensive operations under Operation Desert Sanity, aimed at dismantling terrorist enclaves and disrupting their logistics networks in the North-East.
