Tinubu has fulfilled his electoral promises to Ekiti — Oyebanji

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has fulfilled all electoral promises made to the people of Ekiti State, attributing key developmental strides in the state to the President’s support.

Oyebanji made the assertion on Monday in Ado-Ekiti during an Iftar (breaking of fast) he hosted for Muslim leaders drawn from the 16 local government areas of the state, where he also canvassed continued prayers and support for the President.

The Governor specifically cited the Federal Government’s provisional approval for the construction of the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado Ekiti road as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to Ekiti, noting that the project would significantly boost socio-economic development in the state.

According to him, the contractor handling the project had already received a provisional letter of award and is expected to mobilise to the site shortly after Ramadan, pending ratification by the Federal Executive Council.

“Every achievement recorded in Ekiti is largely due to the support of President Tinubu. When he came here during the campaign, he made promises, and I can boldly say he has fulfilled all of them, including those we thought might be difficult before the election,” Oyebanji said.

The Governor added that the road project would not only enhance economic activities but also serve as a catalyst for electoral victories in the June 20 governorship election and the 2027 presidential poll.

While addressing the Muslim community, Oyebanji commended their consistent support for his administration and their role in fostering religious harmony and peaceful coexistence across the state.

He described their contributions as a major driving force behind the government’s development agenda.

The Governor also praised Muslim appointees in his administration for their performance, revealing that no fewer than 51 Muslims currently hold key positions in government. He assured the community of increased political inclusion if re-elected for a second term.

“There is no doubting the fact that the support from the Muslim community is genuine. I will continue to do more for you because your representatives in government are doing exceptionally well,” he said.

In his Iftar lecture, the Imam of Ansar-Ud-Deen, Ado Ekiti, Sheikh Abdullahi Abdulmutali, urged Muslims to uphold righteousness and the fear of God as guiding principles for their lives.

Similarly, the President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas for the South-West, Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello, offered prayers for the state, the Governor, and the President, while commending both leaders for promoting peace and shared prosperity.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the former Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, members of the State House of Assembly, the Executive Council, and representatives of Muslim communities across the state.
