Get serious with negotiation before it’s too late, Trump warns Iran

United States President Donald Trump on Thursday, warned Iran to “get serious soon” in negotiations aimed at ending the escalating Middle East crisis, while also criticising members of the NATO for what he described as their failure to support the United States and Israel.

Trump issued the warning in an early-morning post on Truth Social, insisting that Iranian officials were actively seeking a deal despite repeated public denials from Tehran.

According to him, talks were already underway to end the nearly four-week exchange of strikes.

“The Iranian negotiators are very different and ‘strange,’” he wrote, claiming that Iran was “begging” for an agreement because, in his words, the country had been “militarily obliterated” and had “zero chance of a comeback.”

He added that Tehran “better get serious soon, before it is too late,” warning that once events reach a certain point “there is no turning back, and it won’t be pretty.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan confirmed that it had delivered a 15-point proposal from Washington to Iranian authorities, with the country’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, saying on Thursday that indirect talks were taking place through Islamabad as an intermediary between the United States and Iran.

Trump also renewed his criticism of NATO allies, repeating his claim that they had failed to assist the United States in the confrontation with Iran. In a separate post, he wrote that NATO nations had done “absolutely nothing” to help deal with what he described as a “lunatic nation” and again questioned the value of continued American support for the alliance.

The latest remarks came as tensions in the region remain high, with Iran continuing to deny that it is engaged in direct negotiations with the United States despite reports of ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the crisis.
