Lagos APC hails Tinubu over party’s victories in FCT, others

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has described the outcome of the recent by-elections in the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers and Kano as a clear endorsement of the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Spokesperson of the party, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, said the results amounted to a referendum on the Tinubu administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the victories recorded by its candidates across the affected constituencies reaffirmed public confidence in the administration’s economic reforms, infrastructure drive, and institutional strengthening efforts.

The APC said the electorate had “spoken decisively through the ballot” at a time when opposition parties were allegedly attempting to misrepresent the direction of governance in the country.

He argued that the results demonstrated that Nigerians recognised what he described as bold leadership and transformative policies at both federal and state levels.

The party further contended that the outcome underscored what it called the limitations of online political activism, noting that social media visibility did not translate into electoral success for opposition parties.

“Democracy is ultimately decided by voters, not virtual trends,” he said, adding that the by-election results showed that digital mobilisation alone was insufficient to unseat a “performance-driven ruling party.”

Looking ahead, the Lagos APC stated that the momentum from the by-elections could shape the political landscape leading up to the 2027 general elections, suggesting that the ruling party’s performance will remain central to voter decisions.

He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the elections and praised security agencies for maintaining order during the process.

It lauded party members, campaign teams, and grassroots volunteers for their mobilisation efforts, describing the victories as a renewed mandate to intensify service delivery.

Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu, it called on Nigerians, including members of opposition parties, to collaborate in what it described as the collective task of nation-building.
