Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru at the weekend suspended the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, and the Commissioner for Infrastructure Development for Concession, Engr. Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara, over alleged dereliction of duty.
The development was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Dr. Monday Uzor.
Uzor said the affected commissioners have been directed to hand over all government documents and official vehicles in their possession to the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Grace Umezurike, with immediate effect.
According to the statement, “The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has approved the indefinite suspension from office of Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, Commissioner for Works, and Engr. Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara, Commissioner for Infrastructure Development for Concession, for dereliction of duty.
“They are to hand over all government property in their possession, including their official vehicles, to the Secretary to the State Government with immediate effect.”
